Gospel Responses

In the first weeks of the New Year, we've been looking again at key Bible passages that help us  to understand more fully what it means to appropriately respond to God's grace held out to us in the Gospel. In contrast to a culture of complacency, easy-believism, apathy and a reluctance to pursue spiritual maturity and a deepening relationship with Christ, these passages encourage us to understand God's plan for our lives, wholly dependent on the Lord, as requiring a resolute denial of selfish and self-centred ambitions and goals, so that loving, delightful and glorifying obedience to God's will (taking one's cross) becomes our primary objective and motivation in life.
